Foxdenton Estate Gin Tasting Aug 20
Gin is on a roll in the UK at the moment with new micro-distilleries opening up seemingly every month in the UK. But what is gin, where was it first made, which country drinks the most gin and what are the styles of gin available today?
This evening we are teaming up with Piers Radclyffe of Foxdenton Estate to explore their philosophy and taste their range of premium craft gins.
Foxdenton Estate was acquired through marriage in 1367. In the early years the family continued with its tradition of serving the King in the French Wars and the grandson of the first owner was Knighted at the Battle of Agincourt in 1415. More recently, after ownership by generations of Radclyffes, the estate company passed to Piers’ father in 2001. Since then they have developed the company in ways that reflect their heritage.
They use traditional recipes, concentrate on making what they know and love - and only make what they enjoy drinking themselves!
Piers will be bringing a range of their English Fruit Gin Liqueurs and London Dry Gins, explain in his amusing and entertaining way how they are made and how the history of his family is inextricably intertwined with the story of gin itself.
This tasting is great for gin lovers and anyone who wants to find out more about gin and how it is made. Want to buy as a gift? Don't forget to ask for a gift voucher.
