Stepping out of your Comfort Zone
A new era is dawning for everyone involved in classrooms and events. Using modern technology, we can enjoy learning about our favourite wines (and gin) from the comfort and safety of our own homes. This has the added advantage that nobody needs to be the “designated driver”. Using Zoom video conferencing is just like being in the room with George, who will, as ever educate, inform and entertain you for about an hour.
All sessions will be recorded and if you can't attend at the last minute just let us know so you can go through the event at your convenience later.
Why not invite your friends to make it a truly social experience?
We all have our favourite wines 'I know what I like and I like what I know' is an all too familiar refrain. But there are wines out there that you'd never buy because either you've just never heard of them or can't pronounce them or just don't like the label. In this series of tastings we will take two wines each week - one red and one white, discover where they're from, some of the history, what makes them unique and what to eat with them
Tonight, we look at two very undertrated wine producing country - Hungary and Lebanon
Many have tried sweet Tokaj, but the same grape (Furmint) is used also makes a delicious dry wine.
The middle East has a history of wine-making going back to biblical times. More recently stories abound of grapes being hervested as shells flew overhead during the Lebanese War of the 1970s and 1980s.
I will be opening
